Funky Dragon is the Children and Young People’s Assembly for Wales. It has played a key role in preparing for the CATS conference these past two years, but it may not be part of CATS 2015 because of the Welsh Government’s decision to cut funding.

Given our firm belief that children and young people should participate in society and be involved in all decisions which affect their lives, Child to Child strongly supports Funky Dragon and its fight to get funding. It is important for Welsh children and young people to be represented in politics and have their voice heard. This is a fundamental right of all children and it should be upheld.

Child to Child’s Chair, international expert in children’s rights Gerison Lansdown, recently made the case for Funky Dragon.

Funky Dragon has started a petition to urge the Welsh government to restore core funding and thus respect children and young people’s rights to participation, to assembly and to expression.
