Ace Africa - Health and Nutrition Manuals

In East Africa, Ace Africa is the largest implementer of the Child to Child methodology and a key organisation working to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. In particular, the creation of Ace Child to Child clubs has been an innovative way of enabling young people to support each other in coping with challenges.

Affecting schools through a health education initiative

In this chapter of Partnerships in Educational Development (2006), Tashmin Kassam-Khamis and Sadia Muzzafar Bhutta from Aga Khan University, Institute for Educational Development, Karachi, assess the success of Child to Child approach in promoting health in 40 schools in Pakistan.

They have realised that the health promoting school and Child to Child approach create an enabling environment to help teachers teach better and encourage greater participation by children, which in turn enhances their health knowledge and self-esteem.

Aforja Educativa - The Educational Knapsack

The Alforja Educativa (“Educational Knapsack”) is a set of play-based, practical activities focussing on harmony among all living things both visible and invisible. Developed by Ecuador-based Centro Niño a Niño(Child to Child Center – a partner of Child to Child)  in conjunction with ReAct LatinAmerica, the Knapsack is grounded in the indigenous cosmovision of “Sumak Kawsay” (“Good Living”) and uses Child to Child methodology to allow children to investigate, study, act, and communicate about the microbial world and its role in the web of life.

ALFORJA EDUCATIVA School Health and Microbial World Part 1 & 2

"Alforja Educativa"  (The Educational knapsack ) Part 1 analysis the problem of bacterial resistance from an integrative and multilateral perspective, starting from the understanding of the microbial world and its role in the human and planet life. This volume is part of the Educational Saddlebag "School Health and Microbial World", it contains topics: Food for Life, Air, Water

"Alforja Educativa"  (The Educational knapsack) Part 2 intends to broaden the understanding of human life as one of the interconnected threads with the other elements of nature, conceived as a living being that engenders, feeds, purifies and protects life. Part 2 contains the topics: Sumak Kawsay, Bacterial World, Proper Use of Antibiotics.

Alforja INGLES - The Educational knapsack ( English version)

La Alforja, a proposal to link boys and girls with the microbial world, and learn about the problem of resistance to antibiotics, understanding the intertwining of infinite vital relationships that exist in nature, and of which the human being is only one part. In the formal educational program,  its approach can be articulated transversally within the school curriculum or incorporated into community learning spaces.

Child to Child Mine Risk Education

Child to Child Project in Newham Evaluation Report

Between January and March 2007, Child to Child piloted a project at Newham College in Stratford, East London, delivered by SHiNE Young People’s Sexual Health Service (Newham PCT). Using the Child to Child step approach, the project increased student’s participation in, and commitment to taking control of their own learning; effected changes in sexual health behaviour and in communicating around sexual health among the peer group; helped the development of essential life skills, especially around practising safer sex; and strengthened links between education and health sectors.
