CATS 2015, a partnership between children and adults

January 2015

Preparations for CATS 2015 are now well under way. Children, young people and adults have been regularly working together on the backbones of the conference, which will focus this year on “Children & Adults, Partners for Change?”

CATS 2015 will involve children and young people from the designing to monitoring & evaluating the conference.

CATS 2015 will involve children and young people in all aspects of the conference – from design, to deliver to evaluation.

The three partners – Initiatives of Change, Child to Child and Universal Education Foundation – have become four and we welcome Eurochild’s commitment to and involvement in the CATS Conference.

The Core Team met earlier this month to discuss this year’s edition of CATS. Issues discussed included how to maximise the participation and engagement of children and young people in all aspects.

Using the Toolkit for Monitoring and Evaluating Children’s Participation developed by Gerison Lansdown and Claire O’Kane, we reviewed the scope of children’s participation in the first two editions and discussed how to strengthen and improve it.

We are very excited to see another edition of CATS coming to life, and hope that we will see you there!
