Child rights expert Gerison Lansdown Child to Child new Chair of Trustees

January 2012

Child to Child is glad to announce Gerison Lansdown, international child rights expert and advocate, as the new Chair of our Board of Trustees.

Gerison Lansdown

Gerison has extensive experience in raising awareness on the need for children’s participation. She has published and lectured widely on the subject of children’s rights, both nationally and internationally.

She was the founder director, in 1992, of the Children’s Rights Alliance for England, established to promote implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). She has worked as a consultant for the UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre in Florence, shedding light on the capacity of children to form views from the youngest age, and has prepared the General Comment on Article 12 of the UN CRC adopted in 2009 by the Committee on the Rights of the Child.

As Gerison takes on the role of Chair of our Trustees, Child to Child offers its warmest thanks to Corinne Davey, who has occupied this position since 2009. Director of Keeping Children Safe since March 2010, Corinne has over 15 years of experience in international development with a focus on child protection.
